White Space: A Conversation on Race and Design
Designed creative for AIGA Nashville’s “White Space: A Conversation on Race and Design”, a part of the 2020 Nashville Design Week. Topics ranged from how to showcase inclusivity and cultural inspiration through work, to why it's important that we’re having this conversation, and how designers play a crucial role in championing how that conversation is approached.

“In 2020, AIGA Nashville hosted a panel for Nashville Design Week that facilitated crucial conversations about race and design and its impact on designers. Topics ranged from how to showcase inclusivity and cultural inspiration through work to why these kinds of conversations are important and how designers play a crucial role in championing how they are approached.
We contacted Ryan Rowland, an esteemed local talent, to create our event branding. The challenge was to address a sensitive topic through striking visuals that reflected the event's serious subject matter. Since the event was held virtually, it was essential that the branding translated well from print to digital for all necessary assets. Ryan truly impressed us by taking the idea behind the event’s name and running with it. Thank you for your incredible work!”
